To determine the appropriate measurements and order for an inside-mounted window covering, follow these steps:

First, find the width of the window. Measure the exact distance from the inside of the window frame at the top, middle, and bottom, from left to right. The minimum of these three measurements is the WINDOW WIDTH.

Next, find the height of the window. Measure the exact distance from the inside of the window frame at the left, middle, and right, from top to bottom. The maximum of these three measurements is the WINDOW HEIGHT.

When placing your order, the WIDTH should be the exact WINDOW INSIDE WIDTH, and the HEIGHT should be the exact WINDOW INSIDE HEIGHT. Round the numbers as needed. Please note that we will deduct 0.2 inches from the ORDER WIDTH to ensure a proper fit in your window. Additionally, a minimum window depth of 2 inches is required.

For outside mounting, there are two options:

1. If you want the shade to completely cover the window frame, the ORDER WIDTH should be the FINAL SHADE WIDTH, which is the WINDOW OUTER FRAME WIDTH plus an additional 3 to 6 inches. The ORDER HEIGHT should be the FINAL SHADE HEIGHT, which is the WINDOW OUTER FRAME HEIGHT plus an additional 5 to 10 inches.

2. If you want to mount the shade on the surface of the frame, the ORDER WIDTH should be the FINAL SHADE WIDTH, which is the WINDOW OUTER FRAME WIDTH. The ORDER HEIGHT should be the FINAL SHADE HEIGHT, which is the WINDOW OUTER FRAME HEIGHT.

Please note that the size you order is the FINISHED SHADE SIZE, not the window size. We do not take any deductions for outside-mounted shades.
